LATEST BATON ROUGE POLICE NEWS A father in Baton Rouge on Sunday shot at his 18-year-old son, striking him in the buttocks after the two got into an argument over a lack of orange juice in the home, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department. Several family members told police that Eldridge Dukes, 58, and his son got into a heated argument inside their living around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. As the argument escalated, Dukes' son broke a porcelain vase and Dukes armed himself with a handgun and began chasing his son throughout the home and out the front door. Police say Dukes then pursued his son on foot, fired at him several times and ultimately struck him in his buttocks. Police found Dukes' son collapsed in the driveway suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Baton Rouge General Mid City Hospital to receive non-life threatening treatment. Dukes was booked with attempted manslaughter and illegal use of a dangerous weapon into East Baton Rouge Parish.
