Sitting in my car posting on Dawgs most of the day and entering fake notes in my CRM.

I usually ended up spending twice as much as I made on those days... Go finish your Christmas shopping.

Selling anything for a living (except at your Dad's vacuum emporium) = a person I admire.

Especially if your salary is mostly commission (unlike people who work at their Dad's vacuum emporium).

I live off my salary. Commission goes straight to savings every month.

See, that is why I admire you people. I just am too comfortable working for a regular salary, 401k w/8% matching contribution, affordable healthcare etc...

I am lucky enough to deal with only about a dozen salespersons, who I have had business relationships for years. And, I have heard stories that make my head hurt.

Specifically people who sell things in the graphic arts industry; specifically cut sheet paper products. Those poor bastards have been fucked.

By lucky, I mean they basically don't have to sell us anything; we have specific materials/services that we buy from them on a regular basis.

I'm in the healthcare field. Tons of competition, but more than enough opportunity. Thankfully I've reached the point where just a few text messages scores me some easy to close leads

Drop your card in the card fishbowl of your favorite restaurant, eat, go watch hunger games.

Sales is tough but nothing like the rush of closing a deal. Much respect to anyone doing this (except schmoopy of course). One month its steaks for dinner the next its canned beans.
