Shit was hella tight. Better than the Lone ranger which I thought was top notch. If this movie would have come out before transformers no one would have went to see transformers. The robots were frigging amazing. The monsters were pretty damn sweet as well. The scenes underwater and in the ocean are better now than when you were a kid watching Giant Robot battling Ikageras or Godzilla walking along the sea bottom. Its like they took everything you loved about those giant monster / giant robot movies TV shows and anime and made it better. I will pay this movie the ultimate compliment and see it again.

I just watched the trailer on IMDB, it looks pretty sick. Is the story any good?

Also, World War Z looks great too.

Saw PR last night. The guy sitting in front of me must have taken a bath in cologne before coming to the theater. It was all I could think about for the entire film.

I was but only because I liked when the Japanese people would talk and the words didn't match up with what their mouths were saying. Do they do that in Pacific Rim?

This was a really good movie and it sucks that a piece of shit movie like Grown Ups 2 beat it at the box office. I hope word of mouth generates some momentum for Pacific Rim because it was by far the most fun movie of the summer. The story was light and not much character development but who cares when it's giant monsters vs. giant robots. I got a Top Gun vibe from the rivalry between the Aussie robot guys and the main dude. I am now really looking forward to this which comes out next year:

See Pacific Rim. Man of Steel was, IMHO, the letdown of the summer. Too long and boring in a lot of parts. I heard nothing but bad things about White House Down and it was done by Roland Emmerich who couldn't make a good movie if he was personally tutored by Coppola, Scorcese, and Speilberg all at once.
