Trying to confirm if the child was from Hungary and named Snowflake. Maybe she should be punished by being allowed to eat only a handful of almonds and a beautiful soup? http://www.app.com/story/news/natio...live-in-woods-after-eating-pop-tart/29809009/ Two South Carolina parents are facing child neglect charges after forcing their daughter to live in the woods, as punishment for eating a Pop-Tart, authorities said. Crystal Lynn Driggers, 36, and James Allen Driggers, 33, have each been charged with a single count of unlawful neglect of a child, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's office. Deputies say they arrested the couple Friday night after learning they were forcing their 14-year-old daughter to live in a tent in the woods more than a quarter-mile from the their home in Sumter, S.C. According to Investigators, the child had been denied entrance to her home for the past two days, and was expected to remain away from the home for a week, allegedly in an attempt to punish her for eating a Pop-Tart. Braden Bunch with the Sumter County Sheriff's Department says she was ordered by her parents to set up a tent in a wooded area known to have wild hogs, and was provided with only a roll of toilet paper, a flashlight, a whistle and a watch. He say the child was allegedly told by her parents to meet someone at a fence on the family property at specific times during the day if she wanted to receive any food. Deputies also say she was left to fend for herself during the severe thunderstorms that came through the area Thursday night. Authorities say last month she was not allowed to enter the home between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Both suspects are being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. The child is currently in the custody of the Department of Social Services. The Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate.
