I looked at this picture real quick and I swear I thought she was eating a mouse. I thought the little black mic was half a mouse wiggling out of her mouth.

I really don't believe it's possible. I have this exact type bird and know quite a bit about them.

    1. Usually parrots (even smart African Gray's like this) have to hear something multiple times, over the course of a number of days, with similar inflection.

    2. Birds spook easy. So if there was a struggle going on, and yelling and fighting, PLUS gunshot(s), the last thing the bird would be able to do would be concentrate and focus on one sentance. Especially if it were people the bird associated with being caregivers.

    3. Grays don't retain things indefinitely. If they learn a sound over the course of time, and then that sound stops, the bird won't do the sound forever. Usually 3-6 months later, they'll "forget" the sound. For example... Mine picked up the sound of the microwave turning off. We got a new microwave at one point, and a few months later, the old sound stopped. This happens often, over many different sounds.

Grays are smart. VERY smart. Probably the smartest bird you can own. But I've never seen or heard of a Gray pick something up and accurately mimic it after only hearing it once, and likely during stress and struggle like this would have been.

    Something's fishy.
