Just came out today and it was fucking great. Pat is still his hilarious angry old self giving his opinions on various stars of the golden age of Hollywood and even a couple of minutes of Howard bashing around the 1 hr 6 minute mark. I dare say this episode is a must listen for fans of the man himself and the old days of Stern as well.

I like Pat but can only take him in short bursts. The time he blew his lid in the studio (mid 90s) was the really the last time he was in. The next day Howard and Billy made a mockery of it and that was ever funnier. However, there was real sadness in the whole situation as Pat melted down and was on the verge of tears. Of course Howard exploited it for days to come and was not the least bit sensitive to the man's feelings.

Billy West was once again his priceless self when he played Pat in the reenactments of this legendary appearance. Pat was on a few times on Sirius but I think 2007 or so was the last time.

Grillo mentioned on Artie's podcast that at the end of one of Pat's "back in the old days" appearances, Pat stormed out, and Gary, I think it was, told Grillo to try to bring him back. Pat wouldn't, he got on the elevator, and as the doors were closing he did burst into tears.

    That bummed me out.

Then there was the infamous moment with Jackie trying to stop him from leaving at the elevator, when Pat famously declared "I don't wanna be loved no more, Jackie!".

They Howard really did wring him out and toss him aside. It seems like it would have taken very little to bring him back, but Howard wouldn't do it. Looking back on it, it seems obvious that Howard gets off on not making small conciliatory gestures. Not for anything less than an A-lister, anyway.

    Cunt.

Thanks for the heads up, SleepingWarrior.

From what I gathered he is getting pretty deaf and can't remember everything so he won't lose his "Dig-nit-y" by going up as less than what he was. 5-10 minutes of the podcast was Pat talking about how other older comics kept going even when they had to have their material told to them via earpieces from people backstage and he wouldn't lower himself to doing that.

    This one is pretty rough.

15 minutes in and the 80-year-old man saying "fuck" every other word thing is played out.
