That's exactly what I figure the right-wingers will try to imply. I grew up LOATHING the man, and down here in bumfuck, he was on every other TV. Then there were his political dabblings, which were REALLY scary times. It's just odd that he seems to be becoming more reasonable near the end of his life.

Him and the 700 Club's sensationalism cause a lot of creepy situations to happen under the roof I grew up. I have stories for days.

I don't care about what his opinions on anything are. I hope he dies in a fire. :)

He should change the 700 Club to the 420 Club.

My grandparents wasted so much money on him. Unreal how people got caught up donating to the 700 club.

i will vote for any loon, with 1/2 a chance to win, who says he'll lay off pot arrests. far left, far right, smack dab in the middle, i don't care.

i'm tired of nice people having their lives fucked up, not because marijuana is bad for them, but because the laws against the use of pot are way out of line with the "crime".

I know what you mean, but he does still hold sway over a lot of idiots, and if he brings them back towards sanity even a little bit, I'm all for it. When I was younger and more uppity, sometimes I'd make obscene phone calls during the 700 Club telethons...

That's so sad, my heart goes out to your family. My mother would send him money here and there and when he'd instruct the viewers to put their hands on the TV and pray with him, she would...sometimes instructing my brother and I to do the same.

She never beat us or anything, she just had these episodes of religious zealotry

Every once in a while, she would wake us up and get us out of bed, make us go through all of our tapes and albums and she would destroy the ones that some of those weird programs would tell her were evil. :weird:

To say she was disappointed when I started wear all-black and listening to Nine Inch Nails would be the understatement of the decade.

Maybe get Snoop Dawg to co-host?

I had some neighbors when I was real young, kept that shit on the TV 24/7, bought all his books and shit, donated money. Really creepy atmosphere...

Yessir! I've mentioned before, where I live, people frequently get more prison time for drug "crimes" than for murder or rape or burglary.(dead srs).

August and Frannie, remember the movie Repo Man (I know Frannie does!). There was a theme in it about Otto's parents giving all their money to some evangelist, and sitting like zombies in front of the TV...That had to have been based on the 700 Club...

Loved Repo Man. Soundtrack still kicks ass. Wasn't everything at the parents house in generic labels also? Been a long time. May have to seek it out to see how it holds up.
