At that point the 3rd Army could have walked in fairly easily...They were unstoppable when they got moving...As always with Patton, he was ballz out, way ahead of the American lines and they fucking stopped him. This was after Germany was in full collapse and remnants of the Wehrmacht Army Group Center and part of Army Group Austria were holding off the Ukraine divisions of the Red Army. The last battle of WW2 in Europe.

I'm a big time history buff and decisions like this amaze me...There were hard core SS units in Prague that would eventually fight to the end against the Russians, hoping we would walk in. All Wehrmacht forces were either killed or captured and died eventual death in Siberia.....Not taking Prague made the Czecks live under the Iron Curtain for another 50 years. Damn shame

The British understood the 'Stalin Grab'. Montgomery made a strong push to the Baltic, just to cut off the Red Army from Denmark...had he not...they may have ended up communists too.....fascinating stuff for a nerd like me :jj:

No doubts. Didn't sound like the Allies were too allied at the end, and that it turned into a rush between the West and Russia to determine who would get what.

I love Eisenhower...but he was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking nice at the end...granted the Ruskis deserved to crush berlin...Indisputible, 20 million deaths.......But man, we let a lot of shit go. We could have been in Poland before the red army, nevermind Berlin, if they let Patton run

There are these pretty boring docs on this weird channel called Newsmax? Super detailed docs, like the subject of this thread

PBS's Nazi Mega Weapons is a great series on Netflix.

The best in my mind will always be The World at War. Youtube has the whole series. If you have a smart tv, chromecast, roku or firestick, you need to watch:
