god damn im old.
love that shit though
I loved Licensed to Ill so at first, I was like "what the fuck is this shit?" Then I listened to it a few more times and loved it. Probably their best album.
Wow, time flies...
Ban this lunatic from the thread.
I'm not a bandwagon jumper. I was actually listening to this music as it came out; not acquiring a taste for it
years later. I like PB, Licensed to Ill and Ill Communication about the same. BB are my all time favorite group.
My favorite beastie boys album. Btw that album has been sampled many times over by other hip hop artists.
Egg man is a flawless song.
Sorry, man. I am inherently skeptical of anyone who didn't love it from the moment it first came out.
its easily in my top 5 all time fave record list. I have listened to it hundreds if not thousands of times and hear something different each time. MCA was such an underrated bass player. sometimes I will hear a riff and just be like "damn"
I was in the USMC at the time. All the black guys liked Run DMC and couldn't believe that anyone would even consider putting Beastie Boys in the same class as them. I saw a show from their Raising Hell tour.
I saw that article today that said dozens of people at Capitol lost their jobs over the PB's initial failure
I couldn't stop listening to that album when it came out. It changed hip hop and recording forever.
i didn't start listening to the beasties until a few years ago. i love their music. nice and loud
the kind of music i don't play when i drive.
East Coast wiggers
I saw that Together Forever tour when I was a little kid----- fan for life--- of both acts
To think that PB came out in '89 and a little less than two years later, the Gilbert O-Sullivan vs. Biz Markie lawsuit effectively crippled sampling in recording as we knew it. Paul's Boutique represents a creative breakthrough that won't likely be duplicated, certainly not "legally"...
I've been a big rap fan ever since that first Run DMC album.
HOLIC dropping science like galileo dropped an orange.
