I miss my old dog. He went with me to work. Had a dog bed there and everything. I've been thinking about adopting an older dog. Maybe one whose owner died. They are always in the shelter for so long. In the Spring maybe.
Nice pics above. We lost two of three dogs in the past 14 months (three in the family, as my sister lost one as well)... we just recently adopted one about two weeks ago.. very sweet girl. I STILL get upset when I think about the girl we lost last September 2013.. and a few days ago, I'd bought a bin to keep her things in (I'm weird, I just can't throw them away) and I was getting very upset doing so. The new girl, who'd been watching me doing all this, sniffing stuff and mostly just watching from a few steps away, walked over, laid down on my feet and legs, and just put her head on my knees (I was sitting on the floor) staring at me. Certainly felt like she was trying to make me feel better. Dogs often surprise me with their actions or just how capable they are to feel when things aren't right, or sad, or whatever. Great animals and family members.
That is very nice of you Yeah it sucks. I've had three of my best friends pass away in my arms. Coming up on the one year anniversary of the last one.
Getting a shelter dog is a good thing. I have two of them. Nobody wanted them. They both were in the shelter for a long time with no takers. They are the my two best friends now.
That's so good of you. Dogs are so grateful to have a forever home after a long shelter life. Thankfully yours were in a no kill shelter. I think so many are put down for no reason. Our old dog came from the shelter. He was a sweet soul.
How adorable. I'm actually looking at the shelter dog pics right now. I do have a fenced in yard, and can take a new old dog to work with me. It's snowing like crazy today, but maybe this weekend.
Today the snow would prevent me. 3 inches and it's still falling. It made my satellite go out and i'm not climbing on the roof to remove it! I've adopted from there before, so I'm filling in the info and looking at the dogs. I think I'll have a new buddy within a week.
