    That's right I've said it.

They're grunge without the attitude and rock without the fun. Eddie Vedder is a whiny pussy who isn't that good or special a singer. They have a handful of half-decent radio-rock songs, which makes sense, because their sound is ultimately generic and boring.

Most overrated band of the 90s, easily. [IMG]

Their first album was good. After that, not so much.

I disagree. But I do feel that way about Nirvana. If Kurt didn't kill himself, he'd be on some reality show now and everyone would hate him.

Ten, Vs. and Vitalogy were all stellar albums. All the albums after that were hit and miss with a few great songs sprinkled in.

I don't see Cobain buying into the commercialism to that extent. I do really like Nirvana and Cobain, a ton, but I do think that the legend of the band may have eclipsed the talent.

I was 11 when Cobain died, so my memory is fuzzy, but I don't really remember him being the "voice of a generation" until after the fact.

Oh, and in regards to OP. I have to disagree, I really dig Pearl Jam, and think they have been pretty consistently good throughout their career.

To each their own, though :)

I thought they would pleasantly go away and die like blind melon.
