This happened a couple days ago, a few miles from where I live... [*EXPLICIT FOOTAGE] Man, 32, killed by Metrolink train in El Monte is identified By Staff and wire reports POSTED: 12/01/15, 8:11 AM PST | UPDATED: 1 DAY AGO EL MONTE >> A pedestrian struck and killed by a Metrolink train in El Monte was identified today. Ed Winter, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, said an autopsy is pending for 32-year-old Enrique Huerta. He didn’t have a city of residence for Huerta. Huerta died at the scene after a Metrolink train struck him shortly after 7 a.m. Monday on Cogswell Road between Exline Street and Lansdale Avenue. Witnesses told El Monte police that Huerta tried to cross the tracks in front of an oncoming train. Train 309, bound for Los Angeles on the San Bernardino Line, was about a mile east of the El Monte Metrolink Station when Huerta was hit, according to Scott Johnson, a spokesman for Metrolink. Johnson said no one was injured on the westbound train, which carried about 700 passengers. The passengers remained on the train until the tracks were cleared for travel about 9:15 a.m. Monday, Johnson said. Buses were brought in to accommodate passengers on eastbound Train 302, which had to stop at the El Monte Metrolink Station because of the track closure, Johnson said.
