I've enjoyed this for a few episodes now. Despite its name and many of the episode titles, the actual "atheist" content is practically nil. (Fitting, in a way I suppose.)

So far it's really just Penn and guests telling good stories.

Do you think the Sunday School theme hampers the show?

Were you put off at first from giving it a listen because you thought it was going to be boringly preachy about atheism? (I was.)

Would you prefer more or less skepticism/atheism/Bullshit content? More or less showbiz? Celebrity Apprentice talk?

I don't really care, but just making conversation...

Interesting that he's not all talked out from having had his own radio show before this. He even seems to come up with stories that surprise his long time producer/announcer guy.

Penn's a very smart guy, and he's in his late 50's so he has a long lifetime of experience to draw from. I'd say working in show business and magic for so long would provide a vast array of stories and things to talk about.

I enjoyed the couple I have listened to. And I agree the atheism aspect isn't overwhelming at all.

I'll check it out. I've seen a few episodes of Bullshit! I really enjoyed, especially the ones about violent video games and the war on porn.

It's still a new podcast, only 9 episodes of it so far, but i recommend the one with gilbert gottfried, adam carolla and arsenio, and the most recent one from this past sunday because i thought it was lol-worthy! :)

Arghh, I didn't even like it at first but now the opening jingle is an earworm in my head! Over and over again.

I think I even like the part where he starts screeching in. There's something wrong with me.

i think the sunday school title was supposed to stress that u get carolla m-f , and now u can get a good sunday show as well

given penn's strong atheism, i was allittle confused by the title as well, but i really like the show

Nice theory but I don't think that's substantiated. For one thing, he started doing the show well before he formalized any connection with "ACE".

My impression is he's purposely riffing on religious Sunday School, and he said in the first episode he really does want it to be a gathering of minds for good purposes. Also, his Sundays were probably his least busy day.

Thanks... I find that interesting because it's really not focused on religion... maybe that was the original concept and it just became whatever it became.

Well I certainly hope it doesn't return to its original charter. It would be a bore.

The Gilbert show was good; I don't care for Gilbert, but it stepped up Penn's game in the humor department. I'm looking forward to hearing his final words on the "Apprentice" this weekend; his last show just aired, and he and Arsenio and Carolla were already tearing it down. Really came off as a polite easy-going guy. (He described on the podcast how that was largely intentional and close to his real personality.)

Became a fan mowing the lawn and listening to the episode with the guy that wrote the muppets songs. He had a lot of great stories.
