Do you acknowledge that you're participating in behavior that most adults would consider "embarrassing" ...Or, are you emphatic in your belief that it's acceptable/normal for fully grown men & women to read serial cartoons, & watch play-fighting?

This is meant as a Psychological study, and not a personal insult (per se)

Help us understand your thought/bargaining process & justification patterns....

    God bless

The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play. :grad:

I met a nuclear engineer at comic book convention before. So I would disagree.

I don't participate in these activities, but I do enjoy video games.

Maybe it's an escape from reality? :dontknow:

My Grandfather was a professor of Roman Science at Brooklyn College, spoke 7 languages. He had a train set in his basement.

When your inner-child goes away, I'd say it's pretty much time to pack it in.

There is, indeed, wisdom in this statement .... But why, specifically, play-acting men in tights? ..and why, specifically, cartoons & comics?....
I've tried going back & watching stuff like Scooby-Doo after I've had a few belts of Bacardi (since I enjoyed that cartoon as a kid), but I cant last more than a minute ..its just not entertaining, and clearly geared towards the minds of 8-10 year olds .... Even though my mind may require foolishness to help blow off some steam, there's a limit to how much stupid I can take

Actually a lot of comic books these days are geared towards a mature audience and wouldn't be suitable for a small kid to read. In Japan the comic books are almost entirely geared towards adults.

I get the need to dumb it down after a long work week, etc ..... A good fart joke or two with your friends, or an afternoon at the Go-kart track ..... But Comic Books??? ...That's like playing with Fisher-Price toys when you're 30

I will still watch Bugs Bunny cartoons.

The wrestling thing I don't get at all, but whatever floats your boat...

Perhaps their adult, daily lives are filled with pain, alcoholism, mortgages, bills, pus and other such humdrummery that they feel the need to retreat to a simpler time. FTR, I couldn't handle Scooby Doo when I was 8.

I've got an old buddy from my childhood that's really into RC Car racing ... He goes to tracks & has a whole online community he gets into.... He's always bugging me to go check out one of the races with him, but I just cant wrap my brain around the stupidity of it all... I admire his passion for his hobby, but I just cant get past the douchiness of grown men playing with kids toys, and pretending like they're a full fledged Formula One team .....

The older ones can be pretty entertaining sometimes... They definitely geared some of the humor towards the parents who might be watching
