Bullshit... dude was one of the best players who ever lived... period. He never juiced to improve his performance, he was just an elite baseball player.

They should have separated the Hall of Fame from his reinstatement.

Only an asshole could deny his career and stats. He shouldn't be allowed back into baseball, but he should most certainly be in the HoF.

    3562 Games, 15890 PA, .303 BA, 4256 hits, 746 2B, 1314 RBI, .375 OBP.

the movement to put him in was picking up steam. the fact that he bet AGAINST his team is a complete disgrace.

I'm not surprised he bet on his team. I am somewhat surprised that he would bet against them. Very few ever wanted to beat you as much as Pete Rose. 1980 Phils would have never won without him.

Even though he's a fucked up guy, I'd still put him in the HOF but never let him wear a uniform again.

I still don't believe this play from Game 6, 1980...even though I saw it in person...

he bet on anything and everything.

no one played harder for his team. no one.

lets put ppl in HOF based who are the nicest guys then.
"this guy only hit .194 career"
"so what, hes a heck of a nice guy and he never gambled"

    Degenerate gambler.
As a player he had inside info on HIS teammates.
So he could play a great game and still bet on his team to lose....
...if he had inside info on illness, injury of teammates,or tired arms in the bullpen.

As a manager he FIXED games!
He should NEVER be in the HOF!

That is retarded straw man logic...no one says have players who didn't earn it in the hall for being nice guys. Only that they shouldn't include those who violated the rules of the sport.

If you can find them, watch videos of Pete Rose denying he bet on baseball and then watch videos of Pete Rose admitting he bet on baseball. He has the same demeanor in both videos. It's really creepy.
