"Denver Broncos quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning reportedly will announce his retirement within the next week.

Manning, who turns 40 next month, is not expected to continue his illustrious football career with another team as the Broncos look to move on by focusing their attention to backup Brock Osweiler, two sources told The Denver Post."

Probably tomorrow or Tuesday I would think. Why keep playing? Go out on top. His arm is not the same. His legs are not the same. Why go out losing games and a season? Not sure what took this long. :dontknow:

He was probably advised to wait to let that bs lawsuit story blow over that surfaced the day after the super bowl. He also didn't want to announce it on the spot because he would become the sole focus and not his teammates.

It's ashame that his arm really dropped on him but 2 superbowls and 5 mvps are ridiculous.

In his prime he was the best qb ever IMO

I doubt Elway would keep Manning at his current contract $$$ anyway. Does Manning really want to start over with a 3rd team at this point? Absent a stellar defense, he's no longer capable of taking a team to the playoffs.

He's had an excellent career. He'll be regarded as one of the best QBs to ever play. Going out on top is the way to go.

And I hate to say it but this Brady is a winner in football and women.

Derek Jeter destroys both of them of course.

I dunno. He doesn't need the money. He doesn't need LA to be famous. And it's not as if he's the missing ingredient to make the Rams competitive for the playoffs, unless he's completely delusional at this point.
