From Staff Report Phil Everly, who with his brother, Don, made up the hugely influential singing duo the Everly Brothers died Friday, the Los Angeles Times has reported. â€œWe are absolutely heartbroken,â€ his wife, Patti Everly, was quoted as saying. â€œHe fought long and hard.â€ Phil Everly was 74. The brothers' early, best-known hits included "Bye Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie," "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "Bird Dog," "('Til) I Kissed You," and "When Will I Be Loved." They were elected to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 -- the first year of inductions -- at the same time other key figures such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry were recognized.
