I too don't agree with him, but it also doesn't matter to me what he said either. I'm not gonna watch that stupid shit show either way, and A&E firing him or keeping him wouldn't influence me to either watch or not watch another A&E produced show. I think A&E realizes that, aside from the handful of typical moaners and complainers, most people feel the way I do. So might as well keep him and maybe get even better ratings for that show.

What's funny is, rednecks do not watch this show. They either don't have cable tv, or they realize the show actually mocks rednecks.

Also, I don't believe anyone ever really considered firing him. Not even for a nanosecond.

Ever been to a Walmart in Tennessee? I have. Either rednecks absolutely do watch that show, or all the purchasing managers there need to be canned ASAP!

[h=1]Lawmaker to propose legislation backing 'Duck Dynasty' star[/h] [h=2][/h]

The controversial comments about homosexuality made by "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson have come up in conversations across the country in the past two weeks and may make its way to the Alabama state legislature next month.
Republican state Sen. Jerry Fielding told CNN affiliate WBRC he plans to introduce a symbolic resolution in support of the Louisiana family's patriarch.
"Biblically speaking, what Mr. Robertson had to say is completely supported. I just think it's time that the overwhelming majority of people begin to speak up and speak out on these issues," Fielding said.
The senator said the resolution was not meant to portray anti-gay themes, WBRC reported.
"We just don't want people running over people that believe in the Bible and standing up for Jesus and God and doing those things the Scriptures teaches us to do," he said.
A&E suspended Robertson after he told GQ magazine in its January edition that homosexuality is a sin and put it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. The network's actions came after gay rights groups, such as the Human Rights Campaign, called on Robertson to step down.
The suspension ignited an uproar among those backing Robertson. An online petition against A&E, for example, surpassed its goal of gathering 250,000 signatures.

Alabama state Rep. Patricia Todd, the only openly gay lawmaker in the Alabama state legislature, agreed Robertson has a right to express his religious beliefs, WBRC reported.
But the Democrat added, "it's not one of the most important things facing Alabama that we need to be taking time to even discuss in the legislature."

A fan of the show, she also said she wasn't surprised at all by his remarks.
"Yes, I've watched "Duck Dynasty." I thought it was quite amusing. I liked it. I still will continue to watch it," she said. "(For) most of us, it was like no big deal. Who cares? Yes, of course he thinks that.".

Todd told WBRC she expects Fielding's resolution to pass the state legislature.

This quote makes the most sense "But the Democrat added, "it's not one of the most important things facing Alabama that we need to be taking time to even discuss in the legislature." Seems like the same logic should apply to the whole gay marriage debate / debacle. With real problems like health care, the economy, war, crime ,etc. I don't see what real difference it makes whether a handful of gay people are allowed to marry or not. Let them do what ever they want. Another quote" "(For) most of us, it was like no big deal. Who cares?"

    is "Facial profiling" wrong?

    http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/duck-dynasty-star-kicked-out-of-trump-hotel.html

Duck Dynasty star Jase Robertson was kicked out of New York City’s Trump International Hotel after a staff member apparently thought he was homeless. Robertson laughed it off and said he was the victim of “facial profiling.â€

Robertson and other members of his family were in New York City promoting the fourth season of their hit A&E reality show. The network put the family up in the swanky hotel across from Central Park.[IMG]
Apparently one Trump International Hotel staff member was not accustomed to seeing a fully bearded guest wearing camouflage pants.
“I asked them where the bathroom was and he said, ‘Right this way, sir,’†Robertson told the hosts of the television show ‘Live with Kelly and Michael.’ “He said, ‘Right this way, sir.’ He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, ‘Good luck.’â€
The hosts appeared stunned by the story – but Robertson smiled and said he took it in stride.
“I think it was a facial profiling deal,†he said.
Robertson’s brother, Al, told Fox News the family is getting a good laugh out of the case of mistaken identity.
“He assumed Jase was some homeless guy,†he said. “This is not our first rodeo — which is another reason I stay beardless.â€
Ironically, it’s not the first time the men of the Louisiana family have been mistaken for homeless people.
“One time, we were in New York City and people put money in Willie’s coffee cup,†he said. “Dad was speaking at a church once and one of the members showed him where the homeless shelter was.â€
The Robertsons said they were “absolutely not offended†by the incident and said they love staying at Trump Hotel.
“We were laughing — wait until the Donald hears about this,†he said.
And for what it’s worth, they hope the staff member doesn’t get in trouble.
“He was just as nice as he could be — escorting Jaseo the park,†Al said. “And honestly, if I was in his shoes — I’d have done the same thing.â€

    Wannabe rednecks.
If Phil wasn't on this show, he wouldn't even know it existed.
