Awwww shit. I turned on the local news and they were showing protests and in downtown L.A.

People laying in the street at La Brea and Wilshire.

And others marching toward the Federal Building.

Then they flashed so this scene.

thought for sure it was in downtown.

    My bad peeps.

Also happened just a few minutes away from me. Fuckin' nig... I mean, assholes. Peaceful protest including vandalism, spray painting building, jumping on top of police cars like monkeys, and setting off fireworks.

Protesters stop traffic on I-580 after Ferguson grand jury decision

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- Traffic was snarled in both direction of Interstate Highway 580 near Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland as protesters walk on lanes Monday night following a grand jury's decision to not indict a police officer in a fatal Missouri shooting.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-alert at 8:36 p.m. for traffic stopped on eastbound and westbound Highway 580.
Approximately 200 protesters walked on westbound lanes where CHP officers and vehicles assembled in a line.

Dozens people were seen climbing the center divide to eastbound lanes where officers were chasing them down. The freeway was cleared for a time, but at around 9:20 p.m., the protesters once again blocked traffic on westbound lanes.

Shortly before 10 p.m., police said all of the protesters had been cleared from the freeway, but there was still a large contingent gathered in the area just next to the freeway at the Grand Avenue off ramp.

About 2,000 people have gathered in the downtown area Monday night in response to the grand jury's decision announced around 6:30 p.m. in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, Missouri.

The protesters started gathering at Frank H. Ogawa Plaza at 14th Street and Broadway earlier in the evening before the announcement chanting, "The whole damn system is guilty as hell. Indict, convict, send the killer cop to jail."

More people started gathering at the intersection around 6 p.m. and yelled, "Hands up don't shoot" and "Black lives matter."

Many protesters held a "die-in" in which they laid down on the street with their bodies traced with chalk on the roadway.
After the decision was announced, a large crowd continued to march up Broadway, walked through Chinatown and headed east on Seventh Street.

Small groups of people stayed at the plaza calling for peace in light of the grand jury's decision.
Protesters attempted to enter Interstate Highway 880 from Seventh and Jackson Streets only to be blocked by police and made their way back to 14th Street and Broadway.

Shortly after 7 p.m., protesters were seen on top of an unmarked police car and spray-painted it at Seventh and Jackson streets.

Dozens of police officers were seen following the marching crowd, some in riot gear.
Protesters were also setting off fireworks, vandalizing, putting garbage cans on fire and spray-painting on buildings during the march.

it's so unfair they they can't shoot the hoot rat now for blocking the freeway. If it was me I think I would try to hit them. freeways are for driving.

why can't OPD shoot tear gas. Silly Oaklanders. Guess they have nothing better to do.

I say video game time on the freeway. It is one thing to block city streets, but it is sheer stupidity to walk onto a freeway. If anyone was to have been killed, that would be yet another reason for more violence.

Protesters DID shut down both sides of the 110 freeway in Downtown L.A. tonight ... I was rooting for an 18-wheeler to lose his brakes
