    Irvine was bean fields up until about 25 years ago. They slapped it all up out of nothing. There's nothing THERE, just suburbs and shopping malls.

    I continue to not understand how's there's THIS much $ in MLB anymore??? Especially in scale to it's entertainment value today vs what OTHER entertainment is available now to when I was a kid.

    Being kid or adult - I barely know a soul who watches or goes to these games anymore. MLB and World Series ratings continue to drop like Howard joining AGT - but yet they continue to ink all these bizarro lucrative TV deals for people to continue to not watch or care.

    Everytime I see a contract like that or MLB itself inking some TV deal - I constantly liken it to every inexplicable and undeserved Sirius deal Wigarace signs. Each time I get a little angier at the anti-consumer advocacy of it all and think "JUST SAY NO, OWNERS-- WHERE ELSE ARE THEY GONNA GO???"
