Can't wait for the call, followed by Howie being disgusted with the disgusting behavior of Janks at a time of tragedy.

(Actually, let's hope they find the plane safe)

The airline said the plane lost contact with Subang air traffic control at approximately 2:40 a.m.
Aviation expert Mark Miller told CTV News Channel the plane was possibly over water, near the north coast of Vietnam, at the time it lost contact with air traffic control.
Authorities have activated their search-and-rescue team in an effort to locate the plane.
The airline said 227 passengers, including two infants, and 12 crew members are onboard the Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Malaysia Airlines has provided a phone number that the public can call for further information: +603-7884-1234.

I can't believe "Malaysia Airlines" doesn't lose 25 percent of anything it puts in the air.

Something I worry about every time I fly, which is superfluous! but: it seems like a US airliner was crashing every year in the 70s through the 90s, but we have not had a major air disaster in the past 10-15 years. Why? Is the Air Control technology now all done on computers, thus minimizing human error? More stringent inspection of aircraft because of terrorism fears? Are we due for another 747 crashing into a fog covered runway sometime soon? every year that goes by, I get more nervous about flying. Seems we're overdue.

Hmm, wonder if this was terrorist attack:

"For instance, after the airline released a manifest, Austria denied that one of its citizens was onboard the flight as the list stated. The Austrian citizen was safe and sound, and his passport had been stolen two years ago, Austrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Weiss told CNN.Similarly, Italy's foreign ministry confirmed that no Italians were onboard MH370, even though an Italian was listed on the manifest. Malaysian officials said they were aware of reports that the Italian's passport was also stolen, but had not confirmed it."

"Cap. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a 53-year-old Malaysian, has 18,365 total flying hours and joined Malaysia Airlines in 1981, the website said. The first officer is Fariq Ab.Hamid, 27, a Malaysian with a total of 2,763 flying hours. He joined Malaysia Airlines in 2007."

Earlier this morning the news reported that the searchers have found a growing oil slick in the waters, supporting the theory that the plane ditched in the ocean.

and the Boeing 777 is one of the safest planes they ever made, according to the incident records. I think the news reported last night that in all the years it has been flying there are only 2 reported failures (ie. crashes, etc.).

everyone always suggests terrorist activities when an airplane fails since 911. without proof it doesn't mean they are right. sometimes machines and people fail. usually the people are what fails first, since we're not made as well as most of the equipment.
