Give me some suggestions please---I'm in a cold cut sandwich and snack chip rut
last poker night i went to logans wife served chicken wings.....what a mistake
avoid all finger foods
swedish meatballs with tooth picks could be interesting
Can't go wrong with....
It's a poker game, not a trip to IKEA
tough to keep hot and fresh all night
Here's a good party food for poker games ...
Get a Crock pot out and throw Meatballs (from the freezer section) and some little weenies , a jar of sliced (hot or mild) peppers , A tablespoon or 2 of grape jelly And let it cook all day until the party. Throw some little plates and toothpicks in front of it and let them go to town.
Its usually a hit at the parties i've hosted.
EDIT: Stir it occasionally
EDIT-2: Add a bottle or 2 of Barbecue sauce
that's a possibility. I do the frozen meatballs with salsa and Chinese duck sauce (sweet, sour and spicy) always a big hit too.
I almost forgot one one of the main things
Put a bottle or 2 of Barbecue sauce it with it.
lol---I was wondering how 2 TBLS of jelly could make a sauce
DRUNK BACON & BROWN SUGAR LIL SMOKIES
one pack Lil' Smokies
one can cola
one cup brown sugar
one pack of bacon
1. Cut bacon into 2-1/2 to 3 inch strips.
2. Wrap Lil smokies in bacon; Place toothpick through center.
3. Place cup of brown sugar, Cola and rum in a saucepan over medium-low heat (until sugar has dissolved) reduce to low heat.
4. Preheat oven to 400°F.
5. Place Lil' Smokies on a baking sheet, brush with Sugar-Cola mixture and bake in oven until bacon is crisp.
6. Remove from oven and dip in Sugar-Cola sauce. Place in slow cooker to keep warm. ENJOY.
Also if you have one of those small crock pots (i got one for 15 bucks)
you can put bbq sauce a bit of cola and any spices you like and just warm them through then you can keep it on low all night and pick them out with a tooth pic
Not sure what the jelly is for but it's how the recipe was given to me.
oh and speaking of meatballs i made meatball sandwiches with vodka sauce and then at the end i crumbled bleu cheese in and put on a toasted roll
but this would also be good just in a pot or crock pot with tooth picks and maybe just some sliced little pieces of crusty bread
This sounds tasty
IN! Here's teh Vyb's menu for Poker Night.
Brown sugar and bacon? I may as well serve crack
not to mention the rum
