(CNN) -- Authorities are investigating whether Michael Brown's stepfather intended to incite a riot last week when he urged a crowd in Ferguson, Missouri, to "Burn this bitch down" after the grand jury's decision was announced, the city's police chief said Tuesday.

No charges have been filed against Louis Head in the incident, but police have interviewed people who know Head and who were with him November 24, the day a prosecutor announced that Officer Darren Wilson (who has since resigned) would not be indicted in the August 9 shooting of Michael Brown, Police Chief Tom Jackson said.

Shortly after St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch's announcement, Head stood above a crowd of demonstrators -- some of them shouting "F--- the police!" -- and yelled, "Burn this motherf---er down!" and "Burn this bitch down!"

I'm surprised they waited this long.
    BUT
    I understand "why" they waited.

Like I said in another thread, "Gas Pipe" and Head were told the decision while in a motel room. This was an act by Head. The media needs to call this out. I haven't seen anyone mention this.

Watched this on CNN today. Everyone is trying to defend step dad and say it was the heat of the moment, there was tons of emotion. I disagree with that.Step dad knew what he was doing and saying. If they don't file charges, they appear weak and afraid to do anything, in order to avoid more riots. When did this country become such wusses?

Correct on both counts. By all means, he should be charged and punished to the full extent of the law. Problem is, if they do charge him, the rest of the city will burn. So nothing will come of this. Unfortunately.

In the end, they'll find he was just acting his color.

(Of course, they'll find a more diplomatic way of phrasing it than that. :what:)

That's the problem. It shows that people can get away with anything if there is fear of a riot. I say charge him, let them riot, and do not rebuild the shithole. There needs to be consequences for this stuff.

See the media spoon feeds them. Head and the family were told BEFORE the public. GP needs to tweet these dumb ass news outlets.

The black community suffers from the same problem as the Muslim community. By and large most of both groups are law abiding, decent people. The problem is that those law abiding, decent people aren't willing to denounce the bad ones. They need to police themselves via community pressure. That's how things used to work. People were shamed into proper behavior by the community. Now there is absolutely no shame in anything. Your son goes out and blows people away, no one even looks at you differently. Perhaps if parents received some scorn when their kids are running around at night doing wrong, they'd figure out how to control their kids.

It's a side-effect of the hippie movement. Hippies turned out to be crappy parents. Their kids became even worse. My parents were boomers. They were the last of the strong parents. Now we've got a nation full of sissies who are afraid to take a stand.
