I know most people are in favor of these and I understand why. I have said that I am not.....mostly because of the politics involved in my department. Well there is now a "pilot program" going on with the body cameras here and the guidelines were issued recently as well. If I am issued one it is to be turned on whenever I have "citizen" contact and I am to inform them that they are being recorded. If they insist that they don't want to be recorded or that they don't want the camera in their house I have to comply with their wishes. The claim for getting the cameras is to protect all parties involved. Sure it is. Seems to me that when being involved with the police that you should just accept that you are being recorded OR don't be involved with the police.
