While I'm not a communist I definitely ultimately agree with this Russian on "liberal" organizations like Starbucks and the same applies especially to Ben and Jerry's.

"Buy this ice cream and save the planet!" Has to be one of the most absurd pitches possible. And White Chocolate is garbage.

The problem is people are generally morons so it works. Just look at the occupy protests where these smelly assholes had zero idea what they were protesting except the vague notion of corporate greed before going back to a Starbucks to spend all day drinking coffee and fucking around on their MacBook to post all over Twitter that they were changing the world.

Charity is a broad umbrella and as long as you keep up with the fads you'll have the hipster liberals buying your product because they see it as helping someone who is helping implement the changes they want.

Of course they have no idea what they want so it changes weekly, which is why climate change will give way to probably noise population in 2 years time with these waffling homos. But as long as hipster loved companies rise the wave of opportunism that is the vogue charity of the month they will make a killing

The key in getting liberal buy in for any cause is to give them something to feel better about themselves and/or superior to others without having to actually make any sacrifice or to put forth effort.

    Remember this one?

Is raising awareness about an issue really that bad? Even if it's superficial, why not? What could it hurt?

It doesn't help and only serves to make the sign holders feel better about themselves for caring enough to put on a serious face and hold a sign.

the goal to most of this leftist hysteria nonsense is to continue to guilt trip Americans into thinking we are the cause of all the world's problems. Their solution is to dismantle Capitalism here, lower our economy, and take control of every aspect of your life with a Socialist government.
I'd say things are going pretty well for them.

We're so self-important. So self-important. Everybody's going to save something now. "Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails." And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. What? Are these fucking people kidding me? Save the planet, we don't even know how to take care of ourselves yet. We haven't learned how to care for one another, we're gonna save the fucking planet?

I don't think young conservatives are bound by brands as much as young liberals. I can't verify this so maybe its only personal exposure, but I think young hipsters have a uniform of drinking starbucks, while on their macbook looking at buzzfeed. You can also spot them by how they dress, the neighborhoods they live in, and the restaurants they visit (if it has craft beer brews, they will come).

They're helping save the planet by overcharging for their product? How does that work exactly?
