Answer Pole or disgust
...yes. i talked to stuttering john told him what i had didnt want to be on the air.
my dad called in once....
i've been on air with another show before though if that counts? it wasnt terrestrial, just a comedy podcast that i used to call in doing impressions...basically a 16 year old wannabe sour shoes
I played 'I've got a kinky secret', and was on the show for a 13 minute call.
I told them that I had slept with my wife and her sister.
Back in 1994.
It was when Alanis Morrisette was popular so it was 20 years ago.
I knew that Alanis had a pop music career before Jagged Little Pill so I called to expose her, or so I thought.
I called the show, told whoever answered the phone my point, gave them my number, someone called back within 30 seconds and said the next voice you will hear will be howards.
Howard was still talking about Alanis so he picked up within 60 seconds and did the "hello? hello?" thing acting like he didnt hear me. I then made my point thrn he told me no one cared and I was an idiot and he hung up.
The whole thing didnt even last 5 minutes.
...i dont know. they were talking about john wayne bobbit and said they didnt know where he was. i had just run into him about a week before so thats why i called in. i told john the story. i dont think howard used it anyway.
Does Superfan Round Table count?
Years ago they had a guy on who invented that app called the Ugly Meter. It would give you a rating based on how attractive you were by taking a photograph of you and measuring key points on your face. This was the one where Ronnie scored a Zero which was the lowest score in the history of the app (not set up of course). If that weren't fake enough he then went on to say Beth scored the highest ever above Brad and Angelina (again not a set up). Noticeably absent was Robin who wasn't brave enough to take the test.
I never call the show but for some reason I called the Superfan Round Table. I got through and asked the inventor how he got Beth's photograph if he hasn't met her. He said he took a picture of a photo of her. I knew he was going to say that so I told him I did the same with Robin. As I get ready to reveal the score Mutt drops the call not to offend Blobbin. I did notice even that stupid show runs on a 3 minute delay.
That is the time only I called Stern. I called Opie and Jimmy on my way to work a couple of weeks ago cause I was stuck in traffic. I was debating them on the Amy Schumer joke stealing and thought I made a decent argument.
You're on public assistance aren't you?
I called in and got on the air. It was sometime in the late 90s.
I played a game where I had to guess whether the celebrity was dead or alive. Howard first asked me if Fred Norris was dead or alive. i said dead and he thought that was funny.
I then guessed the next 3 correctly and won a "cruise" around Manhattan.
He put me on hold and stuttering john picked up, started to take my information, then hung up on me.
I was like wtf. So I called some main number and asked for the Howard Stern show. They transferred me and KC picked up.
So I was like, KC, do you guys not want to give me the prize? And he was like no, we want to give it to you. I gave him all my information.
Needless to say, I never got the goddam cruise...
I wish I had kept track of the day that I called, I would liked to have heard it. Oh well.
What did Robin score on the ugly meter?
and not it does not count as a Howard call or call to the show, but it's an honorable mention.
I got on the air 5 times a long time ago. My last call was when kc was still there. They were making fun of him for running out of the bldg on 9-11. I called to stick up for him. Joey boots gave me a special number way back when.
Just more proof of what an asshole wiggy really is.
I'm finding these stories very entertaining. Keep 'em coming.
Called in to ask about Howard's therapist, but in reality I was going to call him a scared cocksucker after months of not having Artie back. Will put me on hold but I had to go to work before Wiggy could pick up.
Called in to the Nick & Artie show many times.
I think it's just about impossible to get on air even if you're lucky enough to not get a busy signal. If you call before the show starts you will get a line and talk to Steve Brandano but Howard will never pick up on you. For callers that do get on air - there are very few "random" callers, and even those sound way too polished (fishy) -- if you listen to other radio shows with a phone element you know that most callers don't have radio show caller etiquette. If your name isn't Chad, Bobo, Mary Ann, or Ralph, or a wack packer, you're not going to get on air, so don't even bother. It is a way to get a low audio quality version of the show free without any delay, which is why I called a few times when I wasn't a Sirius subscriber.
Howard called me a Dickwad...
Turns out he 's the Dickwad
He called me annoying!! That was after talking to me for several minutes when I called to talk about a beloved poster at sfn who died on Christmas day. Fred played some funeral music and Howard grilled me on how he died and was upset when I said he was buried in a Howard stern t shirt.
