A simple yes or no poll

    Howard's accomplishments:

Started an entire genre of radio - the shock jock led morning show that was copied nationwide
Introduced things like the wack pack and man on the street interviews
Was #1 in every market he entered
Had the highest listenership (over 20 million) of a radio show ever before leaving for satellite
Has the #1 and #2 most listened to stations on satellite
Even on a pay service is the #1 show in radio
Has more press mentions than all other radio personalities combined (702 and counting just for his recent comments on the Israeli conflict)
Has earned in excess of $80 million a year for 8 years running

Even though you're just a troll who wants to get into an argument with Stern haters, I do agree that Stern WAS the greatest ever. Nowadays, Stone Cold Steve Austin is a better broadcaster though.

Probably, although an argument can be made that he stole most of his creative from the likes of Steve Dahl, Steve Allen, Imus, The National Lampoon, Soupy Sales and the Italian guy from Boston who he idolized whose name escapes me. Also as a counterpoint, many of the markets he went into, he lost share after the novelty was over or couldn't compete against the locals from the get go in majors including Chicago and Mpls.

In hindsight, it's sad to see that he only cared about his own free speech and was always such a thin skinned pussy that he had to run to Mel to muzzle O&A when they were doing to him what he did to DiBella, Mark and Brian, The Greaseman, etc.

So by incorporating others creativity into his own ensemble show, he may have qualified as putting on the greatest show ever, but in hindsight, with what we know now including the departure of Jackie and the funny with him, that was a Golden Era, but it was short lived as he's been drafting on legacy fumes for quite a long time

Howard had a few good years. They are long over. Obviously Stern68 enjoys being pissed on.

WAS. Not anymore and even that is in question, in retrospect, since I think he was a fucking fraud all those years that I loved his show.

Jackie, Billy, Artie and even Fred, along with classic wackpackers, guests and staff did all the heavy lifting. Howie just collected the big payoff.

Bingo. In retrospect, you really realize how much he aped from other shows, and how much of the heavy lifting was done by all of the people around him.

Howard gets credit for being quicker on his feet and more daring back then, but he still relied pretty heavily on the talent, charisma and craziness of the people he surrounded himself with.

Howard 101 is not one of the most listened to channels on Sirius. Opie revealed that the O&A channel had been beating it for a while. And the claim that he's #1 is questionable too, as I imagine that title belongs to one of the music channels.

How exactly do you know that other animals are not homophobic?
How many species have you interviewed and asked them if they are homophobic or not?

    Ryan Seacrest!

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/24/showbiz/ryan-seacrest-new-host-deals/

(CNN) -- In horse racing, there's the trifecta. In entertainment, there's the EGOT for winners of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards. Maybe in the future there will be something called the Seacrest -- for holding down hosting gigs with all four major American broadcasters.

The superfecta was trumpeted on Tuesday when CBS confirmed that Ryan Seacrest will host and produce "Fashion Rocks," a two-hour special that airs on the network in September.

Seacrest has existing relationships with ABC, to host "New Year's Rockin' Eve," with Fox, to host "American Idol," and with NBC. In other words, CBS was the only broadcaster left. (Unless you count the Spanish-language Univision network; Seacrest, are you boning up on your Spanish?)

Seacrest's new deal with CBS, and an extension of his existing deal with NBC, were first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC subsequently confirmed that Seacrest has re-upped for one year.

"This new deal will include hosting and producing 2015 Live from the Red Carpet events for E!, contributing to E! News, as well as hosting and producing specials for E! and NBC," a network spokeswoman said.

There had been speculation that Seacrest would stop hosting the red carpet shows.

What's missing from the extended deal instead are NBC News and NBC Sports. When the deal was originally struck in 2012, Seacrest was named a "special correspondent" on the "Today" show, which is a part of the news division, and a contributor to NBC's prime time coverage of the Olympics, which is a part of the sports division.

Seacrest told The Hollywood Reporter that "he'd like to try to continue working with both divisions and has already had conversations with NBC Sports about collaborating on the Olympics coverage in Rio in 2016, as he did the London games in 2012. 'Today' is less likely, given a morning radio schedule that has him in Los Angeles while the NBC show broadcasts out of New York."

Let me disprove these claims as well....

Started an entire genre of radio - the shock jock led morning show that was copied nationwide Not true. Howie just took it further.
Introduced things like the wack pack and man on the street interviews- Man on the street interviews? Please.
Was #1 in every market he entered- Untrue.
Had the highest listenership (over 20 million) of a radio show ever before leaving for satellite- Charles Coughlkin had an estimated 30 mil in the 1930s. Old radio shows like Jack Benny had huge audiences.
Has the #1 and #2 most listened to stations on satellite- You have no proof of 101 being #2
Even on a pay service is the #1 show in radio-Not even close.
Has more press mentions than all other radio personalities combined (702 and counting just for his recent comments on the Israeli conflict)-Bullshit.
Has earned in excess of $80 million a year for 8 years running- Who knows? Howie never reveals anything. Only guests should reveal income.

I voted yes because I thought the question was if he "Was the greatest..." Howard had the funniest radio show for at least 15 years.

Can't take that away from him. It's just a shame that the liberal no fun police got to him.
