    I think it's close for me, but i'll go with Sirius. No way his bosses at K-ROC would put up with shitty ratings with what they were paying him even then.

    A couple things happened the last few years:

    1. Artie leaving
    2. AGT
    3. Sabean getting fired and replaced with Marci Turk
    4. Kimmel's pool parties and Howard becoming obsessed with Hollywood A-list life
    5. ETA and Riley dying

    Perhaps. I don't know I hold Kimmel more responsible because constantly throwing those pool parties for Howard changed him.

    Yeah I mean the guy's, what, 62? I get it. The whole show starting going downhill IMO around two years after they got to Sirius. It fell off a cliff after Artie left and they never bothered to bring in another comedian. He needs that kind of guy to play off of. I suspect the ratings thing may play a part, too. It's clear at this point he's content just cashing checks, blabbing about reality television, and doing the occasional interview (some of which are quite good...Ice Cube today for example). I don't think the Beth excuse flies, because he still did good to great radio for 5-6 years when he was with her.

    Howard on Sirius in his thirties and forties would have delivered. Howard on Sirius as he approaches social security age...not so much. It's like the Lakers paying a clearly past his prime Kobe $25m a year. He was still good at times, but not nearly enough to warrant that money.

    Probably just not having Arbitron ratings. No reason to put in a lot of effort or say controversial things if it doesn't benefit you.

    He's been with beth for 15 years and the prime of the show was 2006-2010.

    The last 6 years saw a combination of things. Ultimately I think Howard got bored with sybian rides and fart jokes plus he wants to be part of the cool kids crowd and have a seat a the table with the beautiful people.

    Howard made great radio when he had competitors to best and when he was miserable. That's all gone and he resting on his laurels.

    For the record Howard's always been an insecure cry baby prima Donna. It just didn't start coming out until around his AGT gig.

    Were you a listener in fom the mid-nineties to early/mid 2000's? That blew anything he's done on Sirius out of the water, IMO.

    The prime of the show was WAY before that. Billy West/Jackie were the prime years.
