Aside from the Julio Igleias song, there's not a bad one in the bunch.
Seven Spanish Angels is a great song.
Here's Willie and Lukas Nelson covering Pearl Jam's Just Breathe:
I'm going....Mama don't let your babies.
Pancho and lefty ftw
Not a duet but the subaru commercials with this song are my faaaaaaaaavorite
I put that in for 80s broads. I'm not such a fan myself.
Good Hearted Woman is the biggest classic in that list.
Willie is a living legend. Gonna be sad when he's gone. Hopefully not anytime soon.
This is a tough one... anything with Waylon is great, but Pancho and Lefty is one of the best damn songs ever written. Then you have Ray Charles, who made one of the greatest country albums of all time.
Gotta go with Willie and Merle though... any time I hear that song, I just have to sit and listen to it.
I was going to finally go see him live in st augustine last year with Allison Krauss and he cancelled the show so he could get his latest karate belt award.
Crazy old bastard
I watched the video when I made the list of choices and my opinion is that the line "Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses" is a great line, but the song itself is mediocre.
Additional note: I didn't include The Highwaymen because there are more singers than 2, and one of em is that dirty fuckin hippie Kris Kristofferson.
Pancho and Lefty, but not the version with Merle Haggard:
Another notable duet not on the list:
I saw him at a a casino in Atlantic City, on the lawn at Sunset Station casino in Henderson, NV, w/Bob Dylan at the minor league ball field in Lakewood, NJ, and w/ the Dead at whatever the music venue in Camden is called now. On the lawn at Sunset Station was the best show.
His best duet is not on the list and was lightly played. Mendocino County Line.
It has Toby Keith in it... that means it is pretty much shit, with Willie elevating it to mediocre.
I think the big omission is Ray Price...
I'll vote for poncho and lefty with Merle.... But I'm very fond of "Mendocino county line" , a duet w Leanne Womack.
They both sound amazing in that song. Almost too good, willies voice is shot.
