I was all over the poms in HS. So much better than the real cheerleaders.

If that's like the "Drill Team" then yeah, I wrecked that shit.

SUCH an appropriate name when you think about it.

Real cheerleaders? I was a real cheerleader and we had those poms. And megaphones too.

The pom squad or the marching raiderettes or whatever your school called them. The cheerleader rejects.

Our school had cheerleaders and songleaders. Maybe that's what you are referring to.

You didn't have a squad of girls that marched in front of the band carrying signs or whatever at half time? They's also spread out and lead cheers in the area that the regular cheerleaders weren't covering during half time

There were usually one or two fat girls that you wondered how she got on the squad.

The flag team and the pom squad were the same group.

No, we didn't have those. My school was probably too small. All we had were cheer and song leaders. We all cheered the same and danced the same, but the songleaders would do additional dances and the cheerleaders would do stunts and such. And we did have a band, I just don't remember them going out on the field much.

Ours always did during football games. In basketball, which was huge in Indiana, we had a whole section of girls, probably 40 or 50, that sat in one section of the stands, dressed alike with some kind of letter sweater or something and cheered with pom poms. Other than that, they were just 'normal' girls.

Whoa! That's some school spirit. ;) There were only 12 of us. We had great responsibility. :D

Gwart got it right. The cheerleaders stayed on the sidelines the whole game and did annoying cheers. The poms came out at halftime and did a slutty dance routine.
