Like a number of you guys, I'm a big fan of Sal's. The dude has looked for a way into show business since his hilarious attempt at rapping. His prank calls to Gary were legendary--and when he was hired he brought his A-game. In the early Sirius years, Sal provided tons of content for the show and even put his marriage/wife out there for ridicule with the "143" bullshit. His stunts with Richard were notable enough to get him a cameo in that Harold & Kumar sequel...he was really making an impact and it seemed as if he might actually jumpstart a comedy career. Most importantly, he was the guy who dared to say that Beth had a horse-face, and if for nothing else, he should be elevated as a patron Saint of Dawgs Saloon for doing that. But for whatever reason Stern has the guy locked down pretty tight. He's not allowed to do his own show on H101, and his appearances on the show are fairly infrequent compared to what they were. I feel sorry for Sal. He wanted a career in show business, and had the talent for it, but Stern seems intent to not allow another Stuttering John situation where a cast member gets popular, has outside opportunities, and goes on to develop their own career. Sal deserves better.
