Lets say we have 3 guys who are of equally high intelligence. All 3 scored the same on a few tests they were put through, and everyone who spoke to them said they seemed very enlightened and quick witted. One was funnier than the other, the other was a bit more serious but very interesting, and the third was incredibly charming. They all begin studying the same thing in college. One guy gets straight A's and lands an awesome job. The other guy claims "life" distracted him and ends up flunking out of school after becoming addicted to pc games. The third guy becomes a serial killer. On paper, they all had the same potential. Especially interesting is the difference between the guy who got straight A's and the guy who flunked out of school. The guy with straight A's will look back at it and say "well I spent all day studying because I knew I had to and disciplined myself to become a working machine, flunk guy should have done the same!". The question is: We all know brains are wired in different ways but usually we only differ between good and evil. Do you guys think it's also possible that things like being lazy, unable to get motivated etc can also be something one is born with? And yes, I'm crying as I write this.
