I have two identical HP printers. One is at my office and I connect through USB. The other is at my home and I connect wirelessly through my router. I bought them several weeks apart and had to install the HP software twice, once for each printer. HP printer software is a major resource hog and I can tell I have two copies of it running simultaneously. The stupid fucking things constantly search for a wireless connection. What a way to run a company.

I am getting ready to put a new hard drive on my laptop so I will be doing a clean install of everything. Should I be able to access both printers with one software install? It seems like I should. If so, any idea how?

I forgot to add, when I got the second printer, I tried to use the existing software but the only way I could get it connected was to do the install.

Try it with just one install and if that doesn't work install it again. No thanks necessary. :toptip:

This one worked out great. Next week I'll be writing in some questions about DIY brain surgery.

I have the same set up and I had to install the printer drivers for each. No biggie.

My only problem is that it runs constantly looking for a wireless connection. I've read tons of complaints on this on the HP board and it is designed by HP that way on purpose. Some times my fans will be running full blast when it is just sitting there. I look into the resource monitor and it is a bunch of HP software running. Four CPUs will be at 60%.
