Have any of you completely disregarded a résumé because of the person's name? I've shitcanned dozens of resumes before I even got past the header.

Parents - don't give your kids stupid names.

Jobseekers- if you have a stupid name use a nickname on your résumé.

of course, the amount of shit we have to sort through on a daily basis we're always looking for an easy way to wade through it, names are the first tell for many reasons, one of which is so simple that if I have to work to pronounce that shit everyday, in the shitcan the resume goes. If I get past the name I skim that resume for the basics so fast, I just get them in for an interview & basically read the resume for the first time when they are in front of me. resumes are so full of shit.

Then I skim for typos. If you can't spellcheck your resume you're not getting a second thought.
