Are pitchers really that good right now, or can people just not hit?
Cannibalism was outlawed in the '94 MLB contract.
I figured it was due to less steroid use
The best hitters rarely succeed more than 35% of the time...
And the increased staff rotations, with advances in the science of recoup/recovery definitely favor pitchers over hitters.
too many no hitters
this thread is batting 1000
Are you a pitcher or catcher?
no roids, no greenies (amphetamines), and infield shifts have hurt the hitters. combined with the fact that most middle relievers are throwing 95+ these days, you've got a dearth of offense.
do you think the sport is more boring now?
the pace of the game doesn't help its appeal. you have batters constantly stepping out of the box, pitchers stepping off the rubber, throwing to first base too many times with a runner on, innumerable catcher-pitcher conferences on the mound, visits from the pitching coach, five or six pitching changes in a game, instant replay reviews, etc. this is why games are 3+ hours long.
pitchers are throwing heat everywhere these days
I think the pitchers are better
And of course the new commissioner won't do a goddamn thing to change it. It's all about the $$$
I'd like to see a breakdown like this for baseball.
I bet it would be pretty close.
the league on fxx is on tonight.
yep. got the DVR ready to go
Is The League good again? It got shitty after a couple years.
