    Yes and no

Putin needs to make America a villain in Russia to maintain and consolidate power. He also wants to reassert authority either officially or unofficially in Eastern Europe for financial reasons (I.E - access to Caspian Sea) and part for nationalist pride.

As long as we are in NATO the concept of MAD prevents Russia from invading Eastern Europe.

The Russians regard the area as their sphere of influence and are being assholes about it.
    Not a big deal.

It's nothing more than a game of "grab ass".

Russian pilots knew they were being watched and we knew they had no intention of firing.

So what do they do? Do some low level fly bys to have some fun with our boys.

What is essentially a nothing event is being spun into the precursor for WW3 and the public being functionally retarded eat it up

For years Russian bombers would fly very near or even into US airspace in Alaska. US fighter jets would just shoo them away. It became a game. Been going on for decades. The Russkies are like kids that want to show off and the US has to be the grown ups.

Be afraid. It's the beginning of the end. This has Never once happened and the spiraling out of control that this wil lead to will first bring about an economic collapse followed by WW3.

Btw I'm clueless. Post in the politics forum. That's where the minds are.

Be very careful. Russian planes have a pretty bad track record at air shows.

    Paris 1973 TU-144

    1989 Mig 29

    And again 1999 SU-30

They may be good at rockets but they suck at aircraft design.

WTF is a US Navy ship doing in the Black Sea? If the Russians were going to attack, they'd have launched weapons from beyond the horizon. Surface ships have a very short life expectancy in the event of an all-out shooting war.

No, we generally don't. I personally think he is pushing it and trying to influence our election.

They weren't. Their only intention was to put on a show. US radar would have picked them up minutes before they arrived and spotters would have seen clearly they were not armed.
That's why the guys shooting video are talking so calmly. They know there is nothing to worry about and enjoy the game.
