im in my last year of college and want to join a branch of the military. i took the practice asvab and got a 92 which i know isn't exactley accurate. health care specialist interested me the most.
what branch can give me the best career options? has anyone here made a good living having the military as a reference?

i know this is off topic but i saw the recent memorial day thread and there seemed to be a lot of servicemen here

Whatever branch you choose, you will reap the benefits for your entire life. I was in the Air Force and loved it. When I got out, I stayed in the same career field for 8 years before going to college, which was 100% paid for, due to being a vet. If you're going to have a degree when you join, go to ots/ocs. Good luck.

Never served, but my cousin did. He joined the Navy and they put him through medical school. I forget how long after he had to serve. He is now an obstetrician. I think he made pretty good money (by military standards) while he served, plus I don't think he paid anything for his education. Not sure what his housing allowance was.

    Navy.

See a recruiter and think about getting a commission. Probably too gay to have thought about ROTC, so you'll have to go another route.

I would suggest the Coast Guard, or the Air Force. I was a reservist, and having that experience was a nice addition to my civilian career.

get your degree, go into the airforce and get commissioned as an officer, continue your studies if you want.

Seriously though. It's cool you want to join. I regret not joining when I was younger.

    Good luck!

Air Force is by far the best. And air traffic control is a skill you can learn and have no problem getting a high paying job when you get out. It's what I did. Good luck

Never served, I'm a puss. However, it seems that fam and friends that have served and tried to get into something specific (engineering, Mechanical, medical, etc.) were lied to and ended up in basic service. Could be a coincidence. Hard to say.

Navy or air force or coast guard. The other branches you are a soldier first before anything else.

Yes, do not listen to the recruiters, they are trying to fill a quote and will tell you what you want to hear. Do your homework and talk to vets or people currently on active duty.
