Can he write middle class or blue collar characters or are all his movies about upper middle class or rich people ?

All his movies are the same now... Younger woman gets involved with older man. Hmmm, wonder where he got that idea....

In take the money and run he played a petty criminal, in bananas he lived in a small shitty ny apartment, annie hall is loosly based on his life and in all of the flashbacks growing up ot looked like a lower middle class family. He was poor in love and death also.

The Communist neighbor in that scene is played by Larry David.

In Blue Jasmine, definitely more drama than comedy, Cate Blanchett plays a rich woman who moves in with her working class sister's family after her husband is exposed as being another Bernie Madoff. Dice played her brother-in-law in a relatively understated performance.

I really didn't understand that comment and was just going to let it go. They both are pervs, I guess. Proves I'm not an intellectual.

Good movie -- but he ripped off "Streetcar Named Desire," so not really an original premise like he usually has.

No, that is his weakness. Even in his better films, the blue collar guys always ring false.

I have a feeling, him being from Flatbush -- not rich or even upper middle class -- he's fascinated by WASPs. They're usually not the good guys in his movies, so maybe he's figuring out his issues with his own roots (another schmuck who goes to a shrink 4 or 5 days a week -- for more than 40 years!). Kind of like a poor hungry person writing about elaborate food.
