In football we have seen a team have a perfect record and win a Super Bowl. We also saw a couple years ago the New England Patriots go 16-0 in the regular season and then lose the super bowl.

Will we ever see a baseball team go 162-0 and win the World Series?

Never, too many games. Every team has at least one or two at the very least shit pitchers even the best teams.

Too many games. Players don't give a shit. Basketball has a better shot and I don't see that happening either

The statistical probability of that occurring is incredibly small. Too many variables over such a long season.

    Found this online:

Statistically the odds of a team winning:

    1 game = 1 in 2, or 1 in 2^1, (Either W or L)
2 games = 1 in 4, or 1 in 2^2, (Either WW, WL, LW, or LL)
3 games = 1 in 8, or 1 in 2^3, (Either WWW, WWL, WLW, WLL, LWW, LWL, LLW, or LLL)

    162 games = 1 in 5.846 x 10^48th, or 1 in 2^162
    (About 5 quindecillion to 1)

In the early days of computer baseball games I played Tony LaRussa Baseball, which had historical players that you could use to assemble teams and simulate seasons.
    I tried this.
Even with starting lineups of Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb, Williams, Wagner, Bench, etc. the absolute best at each position, the teams would still lose 30-40 games out of 162.

If the Warriors go 82-0 won't there be public outcry that a baseball team still hasn't done it?

We have steroids now. How much better would Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb be if they played today?

All the pitchers they faced and other teams would also use so it would be a wash.
