Quick poll: Left-handed or right-handed

Also, after you answer, if you are left-handed, what do you do with your right hand?

And vice versa.

As a lefty, I do the following things right-handed:

• Tennis
• Bowling
• Baseball (hitting, not throwing)
• Golf
• Using a computer mouse

Gotta think of some others.

Certain things, I must use my left hand

• shoot a weapon
• darts
• throwing
• writing

In short, anything that requires more precision.

 

I write and eat left handed that's it. By the way, my hand writing is horrible. Most leftys have bad hand writing because we push the pen across the page instead of pulling it.

 

I'm a lefty. I'm also left eye dominant. I do pretty much everything left handed.

I can shoot a handgun or rifle with either hand, but it's much more comfortable to shoot with my left...which sucks because many bolt action rifles are designed for right handed shooters. Revolvers too. Almost all modern revolver cylinders swing out to the left...making reloading a bit awkward for me.

Yes! I can draw rather well, by my hand writing is absolute shit. I almost failed the first grade became my teacher insisted I write with my right hand and I couldn't do it. Thankfully a teacher friend of the family saw me write and instantly realized I was a lefty. She informed my teacher and the school principal and I was then allowed to write left handed. But yeah, still, my hand writing is the fucking worst no matter how hard I try.

Right handed for sports stuff. Equally efficient with tools (hammers, wrenches, welding, etc.) with left hand though.

 

Right handed, only thing my left does it keep my balance. or jerk me off or wipe my ass if my right is down. Long as I had a stick for a left to balance things I'd be fine

 

When I was a kid, my father wanted to try to discourage me from using my left hand.

He bought me a baseball mitt for a right-handed person. I put it on my right hand. He and gave in.

 

It was kind of cool though, having something my brothers couldn't steal from me.

 

It wasn't the fact that you are left handed that made you throw like a girl.

makes me wonder if i was a natural lefty, and the teachers back then smacked my hand until i stopped using my left.

they used to wack left handers with a ruler and force them to use their right hand. i remember seeing it. i may have blocked it out.

I do almost everything righty except throw a ball.

I shoot either way, but righty is more comfortable and accurate.

I had a good throwing arm, but I hated baseball because I had to play with my older brother who I hated with the white hot passion of a thousand exploding stars.

We were so terrible together that when we got stuck on the same soccer team, as a fullback, I passed the ball back to him (as the goalie) and since he was busy denying my existence, I scored on us.

I remember on an episode of Married With Children where Kelly said, "I can use either hand! I'm amphibious!"

I'm a righty as well. Like Lemmy said I can use tools in either hand though. But I have a harder time starting the threads on a bolt or a nut with my left hand.

 

Growing up, this kid who lived around the corner from me wrote right-handed but threw a baseball, dominantly, as a lefty. As a lefty kid, it was the strangest thing to watch.

My first guitar lesson when I was a kid I picked it up lefty and was like, huh?

Odd how some things are interchangeable and others, no way.
