    There was a contract cycle (1995-2000?) where they had not reached a deal by the end of the year. Howard actually worked without a contract for two month, and then announced he was re-signing in March of 1995.

    He will likely make the announcement next week but there IS precedent for him waiting until next year and still doing the show.

    If Sirius lost more than 450,000 subscribers due to Howard leaving, they would be losing money.
