the "rebels" have the most to gain by the attacks.
It's the smart move. The rebels were always smarter.
It doesn't make sense for Assad to use chem weapons. No sense at all.
It does, however, make a LOT of sense for the rebs to chem attack themselves.
Here's the Buchanan article Paul is talking about: http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/congress-should-veto-obamas-war/
An excellent read.
Thank God there is someone still left alive that stands up and tells the truth.
Ole Rand will simply be discredited like so many before him for the cardinal sin of questioning the military industrial complex.
Maybe the chemical attacks are actually from the CIA trying to give justification for us to go into Syria with guns-a-blazing.
Syria has oil?
I have my issues with Rand. Especially when compared to his father. But I love that he's the flea in the ointment lately and the attempts to discredit and marginalize him aren't working. People can say what they will about him, but if it really is between him and Clinton an '16, the idea that all candidates are just different shades of the same party will no longer hold merit.
How crazy is it that the guys being labeled as the "Fringe right extremists" are the ones who are against wars and against the Federal government treating the citizens like suspects.
Imagine, 8 years ago, a Progressive bitching about the Right wing anti-drug war, non-interventionists!
They serve as a potential pipeline state that could (is Assad falls) be used to deliver oil from Qatar to Turkey.
The "rebels" are Al-Qaeda...part of the Arab Spring revolutionists. Obama gives them funding and support at every opportunity. You really don't need to look any further for his motivation. And you're absolutely right that anti war is now called right-wing extremism. It's crazy! Even Dennis Kucinich is saying that a Syria strike would make the US into "Al Qaeda's Air Force". I guess he's a right-wing, tea party conservative now...
Supposedly the jews intercepted a phone call with assads fingerprints on it... did somebody say turkey?
Oh god someone please stand up for those defenseless innocents and that potential oil pipeline!
I'm no fan of Kucinich by anymeans, but he stood with (Ron) Paul on maters of anti-war, The Fed and pot legalization. Barney Frank did as well. What a coincidence...they all got redistricted.
The only bright side I see in American politics is that the parties, in some regards, are crumbling. With the recent NSA defunding bill, the Congress was practically divided in half. It wasn't by party, but by ideology...or money. I don't think anybody predicted that it'd come so close. Something has changed recently. And I'm reluctantly optimistic about it.
I think you are all nut cases. Assad did it. Rand Paul is a wacko. I'm not for us getting involved but Obama did draw a line. Hopefully they have enough intelligence on where the chemical weapons are stored and can take them out via cruise missile. Hopefully this b.s doesn't escalate and drag us further into their civil war.
I think Rand is an opportunist, he was just strongly criticizing Obama for not denouncing the overthrow of the terrorist-supporter Morsi as a "coup". And now his demagogy is back on the side of civilization.
Funny how Obama never drew a line to stop Congolese machete rape. Man, you are too fucking funny! Thanks for the levity!
