So ive been listening religiously since 2006, loved the dynamic, the fun and the content of the show and since then I have listened to/seen almost everything Stern has done since the early 80s.

Point One: Howard has most definitely lost his edge as is well documented across multiple fan sites. There is a lack of creativity across the board, especially with the absence of a true comedic talent feeding the studio atmosphere and feeding Howie one liners.

Point Two: Robin sucks, is misinformed and has been a lazy bitch since The Sirius era and before. Its laughable in the extreme to put her name and 'news' in the same sentence. Strangely, Howard is blindly loyal to her and many talentless hacks that have been with him for a long time.

Robin is increasingly more annoying and opinionated of late, which makes me detest her even more than usual. God bless Dellabate for at least trying to call her out before he is verbally curb stomped.

She seems quite chipper at the moment too, making me wondwr if she is on some mood altering meds.

Point 3: Song parodies are fucking lame, especially that talentless hack Little Mikey. Psych is mega talented and easily eclipses Mikey in both creativity and takent.

Point waaah: Fred has upped his game. He is on point with his drops and the last few weeks have seen his timing at an all time high.

Point faeg: lack of proper guests has seen the show suffer; but in saying that, its good to not have asshole porn stars in studio.

Point fuck you: its still the best show of its kind around anywhere, even at its lowest.

    Thank you and goodnight.

Not a popular opinion around these parts, but I tend to agree with the OP.

As someone who travels for work and drives ALOT, I still listen daily. Beats the shit out of Opie and Andy, Fez & Ronnie?, and whatever else is out there.. :dontknow:

I think the Jay Thomas show is far, far better than Howard's show.

If O@A or Ron and Fez is all you are listening to then by all means you may be right. There are some FREE podcasts around that are far more entertaining than anything those guys or Howard have done recently. Try broadening your horizons. And I drive for a living as well. 80k miles a year.

Thanks for your post! Always like to hear what longtime fans think of the show these days, good or bad, praise or hate.

But in response to the other posts, I also drive a lot for my job, and I had to dump Howard because I was skipping so many large portions of the shows, and getting aggravated with the new way of life at the Stern compound during the rest. I hung on longer than my friends (who jumped ship at least a year ago). The podcasts I've been trying out have all entertained me greatly.

In finance we call this Familiarity Bias (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/mind-my-money/200807/familiarity-bias-part-i-what-is-it ) you think it's the best because you listened to it for so long and are familiar with characters etc.

Oh dear foreigner, plz do tell us what other shows have you listened to and evaluated?

THSS today isn't even better than fucking FREE top comedy podcasts on iTunes podcast list.

I appreciate the opinion, but having said that, I really agree with NotMyBro. I kept trying to hang onto the show and telling myself it was still the best thing going, but eventually I listened to enough of some other shows so that I realized Howard just isn't worth my time. In no particular order, these shows are all on SiriusXM and better than THSS as it is now:

    1. Jay Thomas Show (without Shuli, especially with Kevin Meaney).
    2. The Artie Show (very hit or miss, this week was good).
    3. Jason Ellis Show (only good if you like metal and UFC, which I do).
    4. Little Steven's Show on Underground Garage
    5. O&A (although I actually hate them, I grudgingly give them respect for their success).

I defy you to tell me how a 2/3 day a week, hypocritical and really nasty towards former employees (particularly Artie and Jackie) Howard beats any of them.

Just to clarify, it's not that Kevin Meaney is funny, it's that he tries to do his shtick and Jay just rips on him for being a total fuck up and gay. At one point Jay told him something like "You're a poor man's Louie Anderson, and you're a fat, old disgusting sodomite."
