based on unfinished manuscripts his editor and wife put together into a book after his death (suicide in 2008)

the book is not complete but its 540 pages and very insightful look into the working s of the people who work for the IRS..

iv not read his stuff before but this one caught my eye at the library..

good so far..one chapter about a nerd kid in school almost had me falling off the exercise bike from laughing so hard

"Infinite Jest" is on my Amazon wishlist.

I've been interested in getting into his work. His work is in the vein of literature that I enjoy. Let me know how it goes.

Actually, I'm an unabashed literary freak, especially when it comes to 20th century stuff. I also trade first editions and collect them so feel free to facepalm. :D

    That's hawt!

Dude, I will talk to you about literature until I'm blue in the face.

For the record, I mark out to John Kennedy Toole, Sinclair Lewis, Flannery O'Connor, and Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

I also enjoy big, expensive books about art, design, film, and architecture.

I encourage it, the only authors for high schoolers is Stephanie Meyer, Poppy Z. Brite, and Clive Barker. Voneegut Jr. is both fun and funny!

I guess Im all alone in seeing more tragedy than humor in Kurt. Also tragic was that I paid for a hardcover of Timequake and it sucked.....at least the 30 pages I read did.
