And since the judge did NOT put a stay on his ruling, the state attorney general is scrambling to file one.
So, like Utah, a whole bunch of people are gonna be gettin' married this weekend.

Vegas, you DO know what the role of the judiciary is in our system of government, right?

Just because the people all get together to pass a law, it doesn't necessarily mean that law is consistent with the U.S. Constitution.

You are in favor of our Constitution, right? And again, this "activist" judge was appointed by St. Ronald Reagan.

Guess I still have one question. Had this been voted on by the citizens?

You mean a conservative activist? It's the conservative position. You think the citizens should decide whats constitutional, why even have SC then? Why it is so important to make sure they don't get married, what's the difference. Why I should I care :dontknow:

Guess you're still not listening/reading. Yes, Vegas, the people voted on a measure. The role of the judiciary, in our country, is to review laws to ensure they are consistent with the U.S. CONSTITUTION.

This judge, found that the law, enacted by the people, unconstitutional.

    Any other questions?

 3 branches of government and she thinks when a judge strikes a law down, he's an "activist." Whose Kool-Aid did you drink when you started throwing around the word "activist?"

The US Constitution grants the federal government 18 specific powers. The rest is left up to the individual states, and then ultimately the people. Gay marriage can be legal, but only by state law.

The federal judge was wrong as usual, because he has no legal authority to override state law, he only has authority over those 18 enumerated powers.

Want gay marriage, protected by the US constitution? Ammend the document, and there is also a clear procedure for that.

Please cite the judges authority in this matter

The judge relied upon an existing amendment's equal protection clause.

    Next question?

that's a silly and naive suggestion:

[h=4]"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)[/h]
Edmund Burke (January 12, 1729 – July 9, 1797) was an Irish political philosopher, Whig politician and statesman who is often regarded as the father of modern conservatism.
