CNN is being sued by two EMTs who say a foreign correspondent for the cable news network bit them in a drunken rage outside the US Embassy in Baghdad.

Arwa Damon, described by the cable network as a senior international correspondent, was intoxicated and abusive to a medical team stationed on the grounds of the embassy, where Damon did not have authority to be, according to the $2 million lawsuit filed in Manhattan on Monday.

According to the lawsuit, Damon, 36, bit EMTs Tracy Lamar and Charles Simons before threatening them, saying she was a “major reporter for CNN.”

The medics were trying to treat Damon when she became violent, the lawsuit said.

It was not clear what sparked the incident.

The suit claims CNN knew Damon had a history of drunken and abusive behavior, and had a penchant for violence, even when sober.

The EMTs are each suing for $1 million.

CNN did not immediately return a call for comment.

She's not even hot. If a girl is going to bite me, she should be hot.

I remember when they all were a hell of a lot better than they are now. I remember Walter Cronkite!

They are respected, what's the alternative Fox News where every story is about hatred for Obama?

Remember when Fox News successfully sued on appeal to confirm their right to falsify news? Just the counterpoint as no matter what side of the ideological divide you find yourself, all the news stations suck, are untrustworthy and have axes to grind.

I guess you guys don't remember the good old days, but most reporters have always been drunks.
Roger Grimsby in NYC used to be drunk for every newscast.
And Walter Cronkite was a douche IRL. lol.

Funny u should mention him but you're right (although he was a very nice guy). My dad worked in the production end at ABC Eyewitness News with Roger, Bill Beutel, Roseanne Scamadella, Joan London, Tex Antoine and Geraldo Rivera when he went by "Gerry Rivers."

It is sad knowing the only place to get unfiltered, non-fluff, straight news about the US of A is from BBC America.

Respected? Really? They're the lowest rated cable news network and their crown jewel used to be Larry fucking King. If people respect CNN then it must be because they never watch and just assume that there is less of a bias.

Fox is terrible, dumbed down and is essentially a mouthpiece for the so-called Right. MSNBC is the same for the so-called Left. But CNN is no-less agenda driven. They take money from corporations and actual nations and, in return, pull their reporters off of stories where there might be a conflict of interest. They manipulate the news and viewers just like the other guys. The difference is that they just really suck at it.

People tend to forget that news is not a public service. It's a business. It's not interested in keeping viewers informed. It's interested in making a profit or creating a narrative that fits an agenda. The fact that people still trust the news media is one of the scariest things about this country.

Oh, I loved that whole Eyewitness News team. Even that Tex Antoine getting drunk that one night and basically telling women if you know you're gonna get raped, you should lay back and enjoy it. Oy.
    Crazy times.

I watch CNN and then I watch BBC. And then I watch other reports from around the world online.
It's really fascinating, all the different viewpoints.
