It's been 11 years since his death.

I miss that guy. He opened my eyes to a lot of music.
I've got a back catalog of his old shows, and still replay them today.
Anyone here use to listed to the John Peel Radio Show?

    Rest in Peace~

Incredible producer (that "stripped down sound" that really brings the live element of a band to the fore). Bridged the gap between popular and alternative. Gave some great unknowns the first light of day (Chameleons U.K.) and had a career that spanned from Syd Barrett through Bauhaus, Black Sabbath to the Black Keys.

Since the thread title is "Remembering John Peel," I will add: Unfortunately, he also appears to have been a minor player in the Seville scandal, which, though to be taken carefully (and even skeptically) in light of no charges being filed, is consistent with the facts of his life story (he did marry a 15 year old girl in the 1960s and later bragged about having sexual access to underage girls during that period of time). Yes, Britain/Europe was a different world back then . . . but . . . .
