Deputies: Florida man steals $10k in lotto tickets, picture leads to arrest A Florida man was arrested on Tuesday after he broke into a gas station and stole about $10,000 in lottery tickets, attempted to cash them in, but was told they might be stolen and he needed to have his picture taken, leading to his arrest. Christopher Sikes, 24, broke into an Ocala-area gas station on Aug. 16 and made off with $10,000 worth of lottery tickets, WJXT reports. Shortly after, he attempted to cash in an $1,000 winning ticket at a Leesburg-area convenience store, but was told by the clerk that it had been declined and might be stolen. Marion County Sheriff's Office The Village News reports the clerk told Sikes that he needed to pose for a picture or he would call the cops, so Sikes obliged and the picture was posted on the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Sikes was identified several hours after it was posted and was charged with burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. Read more at WJXT.
