    Robin Williams
    Dementia Hallucinations Triggered Suicide

11/11/2014 1:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
    EXCLUSIVE

Robin Williams' suicide was triggered by a horrible disease called Lewy Body Dementia ... sources connected with his family tell TMZ.

TMZ has obtained documents showing Williams was struggling with the disease, which is marked by abnormal protein deposits in the brain that disrupt normal function.

Lewy Body Dementia is a condition commonly associated with Parkinson's ... and people afflicted by both often get severe side effects from Parkinson's meds. Hallucinations are common, where patients see phantom objects, people or animals. The patients often try to converse with the illusions.

Robin's wife had told authorities shortly after his death he had been complaining about the meds and the way they made him feel.

Sources connected with the Williams family tell TMZ ... Lewy Body Dementia was the "key factor" they believe drove him to kill himself. We're told Robin's doctors agree that the disease was the critical factor leading to his suicide.

The family always tries to explain away a suicide - there are millions in insurance money at stake. Same for overdoses, they try to either blame an undiagnosed illness or call it an "accidental" overdose as if it's an accident to take 10 Ambien when the bottle clearly says take one. I wouldn't doubt if the recent autoerotic asphyxiation deaths weren't just standard hangings, the family has no problem ruining someone's reputation in the hopes of getting a bigger check.

david carradine's death was pretty suspect when you read into it...& not even taking in to account that his hands were bound behind his back.

Except in this case it's not the family - it was a doctor looking at his brain tissue as part of the autopsy.

Lewy Body Dementia is no joke.... It's a mind fuck to watch someone you know and/or care about suffering from it.... The hallucinations are fucking gnarly, and it robs every ounce of dignity from the person whose got it.... Talking to things that aren't there.. Running in fear from things their brain is telling them is out to kill them, etc etc... It's a a horrible way to spend your last few years on this planet .....,

Of course, the same way Heath was ruled an accident, even though he "accidentally" had oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine in his system.

I have it on good authority that the real reason Williams killed himself was that he heard that Howard Stern was about to call him.

And his Parkinson's was probably caused by years of cocaine abuse...same as MJF.

no shit, had never heard of that. my family is now dealing with a huntington's disease thing. it sucks ass because its highly hereditary. they encourage everyone in the family tree to be tested. luckily (and i hate to even say that) only 2 family members tested positive. i guess it affects females more so. my aunt was the initial & then it was 2 of my cousins. it definitely sucks. i haven't gone to get tested yet.

Maybe, in robins case, his brain was right and the hallucinations lynched him!

"I don't want to make this about me, Robin; but I told Beth that I was planning on calling Robin Williams and tell him to look out for abnormal protein deposits in the brain that disrupt normal function. And, now I feel terrible that I didn't get to make that call. But I don't want to make this about me."

My mother died from Lewy Body Dementia.

If we had known more about what it would do to her, I could easily justify suicide. My mother was 76 when diagnosed, Robin was much younger and much more alert to what his future held. It's a hideous disease.
