Here are the bands I saw the last two days and some thoughts about them.

    HALESTORM

Solid band. Kinda has a 80's type of vibe. I just can't get into this band, don't know why. I've seen them twice now and ....meh.

    Theory of a dead man

A example of modern rock radio. Some good songs, They are not great but they don't suck. The thought of seeing them live for the third time doesn't fill me full of excitement but it doesn't piss me off either. They will have a good career cruising right down the middle of the road.

    Rival Sons

This band stood out for its old school, southern rock vibe. I dug them. If you shake your head at this new music these whippersnappers are listening to, This is worth checking out then.

    Chevelle

Chevelle has allways had a cool vibe to their music. They have been solid everytime I've seen them. I love this band. I do wish they would go back to their earlier sound that had a heavy Tool influence to it.

    In this moment

They threw down one of the hardest sets of the whole weekend. Surprisingly for me not all of their songs were straight ahead metal and had some experimental qualities to some of the songs. P.s. maria is as hot in real life as in video and pics.

    P.O.D

Love or hate the era p.o.d comes from but they have allways been one of the best. Both times I've seen them,It never came across as a job to them or it was just another gig. They truly come across as loving music and playing for people. Some bands could learn from them ( I'm looking at you Stained...) This band allways high energy and fun to watch.

    Cypress Hill

They kicked ass. And despite what some would say on here. They were live not taped. This is one group I've allways wanted to see but never got the chance. My inner skateboarding punk hell raising child was smiling from ear to ear.

    Five Finger Death Punch

During the set the lead singer Ivan said that the promoters told them they doubled security just for their set. You know what? I believe him. This is the third time I have seen them and Ivan has gotten more comfy in being the lead singer and has become quite the showman. If you see this band live stay to the sides or back or you will get fucked up. See example below.......

I'm in this vid. Bouns points if you can spot me ( hint.....I'm up front)

    Volbeat

Fucking awesome. Volbeat has such a fun, cool, unique sound ( some have called Elvis Metal) they stand out big time. If you get a chance to see them go. Fans of Social Distortion will feel right at home.

    Mastadon

Mastadon isn't for everyone. Crazy complex music and themes. This is a band name you drop to impress the hot smart metal chick you are into. Seen them twice now, and they didn't disappoint both times.

    Down

Legendary band with legendary members. Down and dirty, pot fueled music drives this band. Phil looked like he came off the vugar display of power tour. He looks like he is in fighting shape and put his demons behind him. This was a band on my bucket list and I'm glad I got a chance to cross them off.

    Lucuna Coil

Lucuna Coil brought their brand of symphonic metal to the masses, and it was quite good. I've allways dug their sound and glad I got to see them. It is worth noting, it is true...Cristina is heart stopping beautiful. Those with health problems should avoid looking at her in real life.

    Anthrax

One of the big four. They proved why this weekend. Old school thrash in it's purest form. Joey sounded like he did when they first came out and could still hit the high notes. Much respect to this legendary band.

    Megadeth

Another of the big four. This was the band I was looking forward to all weekend. I have never had good luck in trying to see them. They played new songs and they played the hits that made them important in metal. Played great, sounded great. One downside....they didn't play foreclosure of a dream. That bummed me out a little but with so many huge songs in their arsonal, somethings have to give I guess.

    Marilyn Manson

The second coming of Alice Cooper. Love him or hate him ( I like his music) He does put on one hell of a show. He does seem to becoming more calm in his old age.

    Rob Zombie

Hey kids! Like old school horror, cars and hot chicks dancing go-go? (I do!) Then Rob Zombie is for you! I'm a huge fan of his and White Zombie so I've loved everytime I've seen him. Even if you don't like his music you should go and see him. He doesn't put on a show as much as a multi media event. You will be entertained.

That's it for this year. I saw some other bands but they were so bad I will not waste any time promoting them. Till next year........maybe.
